How To Have A Unique ID for a 12 Step Meeting On Zoom

In Zoom, you can set up meetings one of 2 ways:

a) you have an automatically generated unique ID for each meeting (including recurring meetings), or

b) a) you have a virtual meeting room permanently reserved for you which people access with your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) or personal link.

For security and efficiency, we recommend option (a): an automatically generated unique ID for each meeting. To disable option (b), the Personal Meeting ID (PMI):

1. Go to www.zoom.us

2. On the top right corner of the page, click ‘Sign in’

3. Type in your email address and password for the account, and click ‘Sign in’

4. On the left of the page, under the heading ‘personal’, click on the 5th subheading: ‘Settings’

5. The word ‘Meetings’ will appear in bright blue up at the top of the page.

Scroll down the page to find the ‘Schedule Meeting’ heading, and ‘Enable Personal Meeting ID’. Click so button is grey.

Beneath it you’ll see ‘Use Personal Meeting ID (PMI) when scheduling a meeting’. Click so button is grey.

Beneath that, you’ll see ‘Use Personal Meeting ID (PMI) when starting an instant meeting’. Click so button is grey.
